Mr. Bigstuff's Traxxas Street Sport Project

Phase 1

I wanted to do it up more than anyone would imagine.  I started with the normal stuff.  dumped the awful centerpoint slicks, and added Pro-Line Sedan Hawgs.  For nothing more than looks I changed shocks.  I started with Duratrax Short Competition shocks in gold (I already had them in my spare parts bin).  They proved to be too long, i.e. ride was too high.  So I changed to Hot Bodies shocks in blue and purple, which added nice color.  I used Tamiya stiff blue springs in the front, and Assosciated silver springs on the rears.  using a tip from the Traxxas Message Board, I mounted the wheels inside out, like a wide offset wheel.  The fronts were easy, just turn them the other way.  But since the rears are driven, I had to cut a notch for the rod to fit in.  I used a Dremel with a diamond cutoff wheel to do it.  Then I took the stock steering servo from my E-Maxx, and put it on the Street Sport.  The stock SS steering servo was too slow.  The hi-torque E-Maxx servo was a good remedy.  The last thing I did was add an HPI Lotus Sport Elise (200mm).  The wide body was not a problem with the wheels mounted inside-out.  My wife was kind enough to decorate the body for me for Valentine's Day (2001).

Take a look at the pics below.  Click any of them to view a larger image.  There is much more to come...

Here's a look at my Street Sport chassis.  I like the color that the Hot Bodies shocks add.
Yes, this is a Britney mobile.  Why not put the hot chick on the hot car?!!!
This certainly is a different look than the Pro-Graphix stock car body.
Here are the three-quarter shots.  The images on the doors are from the new album (Britney).  The pic on top is from Cosmopolitan.
The paint is Pactra Pearl White, backed with Sprint White.  The design on the rear is actually a very thin napkin.  It was applied with XXX Main Lexan Picture Glue.  The images on the doors and rear lid were applied with this as well.

Future upgrades will be made very soon.  They include an ESC, and a lot more power.
